During this session, I will show you how to set up a productivity and FTE model for your coding departments that will be realistic for your coders. I will also show you how this model can help you support the need for more FTEs to make sure that you are not overworking your staff.

I am the Inpatient Coding Supervisor of the University of Utah Health. I got into HIM right out of high school in 2001 and got my RHIT credential in 2004. Throughout the years, I have gone from ROI to Quality to Coding and Auditing to Management. I work remotely in Michigan and go onsite to Utah every 3 months to see my team. I have 3 boys all under 8 years old that love me working from home. My boys love my job now and tell my boss that often. They even mention her in school projects when they describe what I do. I love working with the people in our field and helping them to become more efficient while not compromising their quality. I obtained my CDIP and CCS credentials a week apart back in April of 2017. I have a passion for our field and its ever-evolving practices. I am embrace the changes with a determined attitude and help my coders do the same. My goal is to provide expertise and help in whatever way I can to support those in our field be more efficient across the country.
