Kay has a passion for helping coders improve their knowledge and skills.Kay is the Inpatient Coding Educator for SSM Health-St. Louis which staffs coders for eight-hospitals. Kay is a Missouri Health Information Management Association (MoHIMA) Delegate as well as the state’s Coding Roundtable Coordinator. Kay edited the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA)’s CCA Exam Preparation Workbook, Fourth Edition. She is an AHIMA Rapid Designs Team member, a volunteer group that creates ICD-10 educational materials.In 2014 Kay was awarded the MoHIMA Distinguished Service Award.She also received AHIMA’s Coding Roundtable Achievement in Coding Excellence Award in 2014 and 2015.
Barb Quick has over 35 years of experience in quality, patient safety, case management and clinical leadership. She is certified in both quality and case management and have served on local, state and national board of directors. She is currently a judge for the Missouri Quality Award, on the Board for the Case Management Administration exam, and active in state quality and case management groups.
Quick’s current position is director of patient safety and quality for the St. Louis region of SSM Health, which includes 5 adult and one pediatric hospital.
