Eligibility
- Credentialed member in good standing with ILHIMA
- If retired, credentialed member must have been in good standing upon retirement.
Distinguished Member
The Distinguished Member Award is an honor to be given to an ILHIMA member who has made a lasting contribution to the Association, who has served as a model and mentor, and who has exercised leadership and dedication in serving ILHIMA.
As a tribute, ILHIMA will provide the recipient with partial annual meeting expense coverage, based on the current ILHIMA Standing Rules.
Professional Achievement
The purpose of the Professional Achievement is to honor an ILHIMA member for contemporary or innovative achievement which advances the ideals of the profession. Criteria for selection includes any of the following:
- Made a significant contribution to the body of health information management knowledge through the preparation of outstanding published material.
- To be eligible for nomination, the candidate must be the author, co-author, editor or co-editor of journal/newsletter articles, books or chapters of books. Materials other than books must be published within one year of the time of nomination.
- Presentation of HIM–related topics at seminars
- Presentation or publication of research findings related to HIM initiatives.
As a tribute, ILHIMA will provide the recipient with partial annual meeting expense coverage, based on the current ILHIMA Standing Rules.
Outstanding New Professional
The Outstanding New Professional is to recognize new members who are within seven years of initial certification for an achievement or contribution to HIM which advances the ideals of the Association.
