ILHIMA was well represented at AHIMA’s 2018 Advocacy Summit, with five Board members attending (Marsha Matthias, Tricia Truscott, Deshawna Hill-Burns, Lynette Czarkowski, and Andy Dionne). The first day of the Summit began with a series of presentations aimed at raising awareness of relevant activities occurring in the Office of the National Coordinator, CMS, and the Office of Civil Rights. The day closed with informative presentations by Lauren Riplinger and Pam Lane of AHIMA, preparing CSA delegations to effectively communicate the issues and “asks” for members of Congress. The second day was largely dedicated to meeting Senators and Representatives from the states. ILHIMA met with seven legislator offices that day.
